Charity Knitting for the Pine/Strawberry Food Bank

Just a gentle reminder that on Thursday evenings between 4 and 7 PM we are having our charity knitting. We have quite a large number of items already....so please join us!!


Marti Heinert (who does all the purchasing for the Food Bank) came last Thursday and was elated by our efforts and the amount of items already knitted/crocheted. She indicated that we now have 79 families using the foodbank (up 9 families from a month ago) and that most of these families cannot affort to buy their children Christmas gifts this year, so these knitted items will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again to all those who have already given of their time and to those who will join us in the weeks to come.

If you have extra yarn you won't be using please bring it along....we do have a number of large bins filled with yarn that you can also use.

Monday Knit Alongs

Our first Knit-Along Monday was a resounding success.  The scarf that everyone chose was The Alpaca Yarn Companies "Knitted Interlace Scarf".  We have a group of five women working together to create this project.  Thanks to those who joined us for this first event of many to come. 

Our next project starting on Monday November 15 will be the Gauntlets project.  There already has been a lot of interest in this Knit-Along so please reserve your space now!

Starting November 1, 2010 we will be our series of 'Knit Alongs'....

Come check out our new line of Laurel Hill Exotic wood knitting needles.  These 11" four-sided needles are comfortable and easier to hold for those challenged with arthritis and great for teaching children how to knit.

Knitting for the P/S Food Bank

Don't forget to come and knit on Thursday evenings beginning at 4PM for the Pine/Strawberry Food Bank.  Bring any patterns and leftover yarn you want to use or share.
